MIG Welding
MIG welding is a commonly used high deposition rate welding process which generates heat from an electric arc maintanied between a mechanically fed wire electrode and the part to be welded. MIG welding is therefore referred to as a semi-automatic welding process. MIG welding is primarily used for mild and stainless steel and aluminium welding. The thickness of the metal will determine the product which is to be used.
Mild Steels
- Supa Argon 07 for 1 – 6mm thickness
- Supa Argon 10 for 4 – 8mm thickness
- Supa Argon 18 for 6 – 12mm thickness
- Supa Argon 23 for 10 – 15+mm thickness
- Supa Argon 52 for 2 – 6mm thickness
Aluminium
- Pure Argon for 1 – 3mm thickness
- Supa Argon 25 for 3 – 6mm thickness
- Supa Argon 75 for 7 – 15+mm thickness
Stainless Steels
- Supa Argon 02 for 1 – 10mm thickness
MIG Welding Benefits
- Easiest to learn
- Better control on thin metals
- Out-of-position welding
- Deep penetration for welding thick sections
- Same power source for solid & flux cored (gasless) wire
