Supagas invests in Road Safety Technologies

Supagas continues to improve its driver and vehicle safety, investing in DriveRisk’s driver safety solutions and zzoota’s telematics safety monitoring devices in all company and contractor vehicles.

Supagas have invested in DriveRisk – a Driver Safety Solutions company who utilise state-of-the-art fleet risk management and vehicle tracking solutions. Partnering with DriveRisk, Supagas have invested in DriveCam – a vehicle tracking device and event recorder. DriveCam provides reliable event recording and features a subscription-based analytics platform, ongoing training and expert support to ensure prompt correction of risky behaviours. The investment in DriveCam offers a new way for the company to ensure the safety of their drivers on Australian Roads.

Supagas Managing Director, Erol Arican says, “The ability of the system to support and encourage changes to driver behaviour is critical in reducing risk. Providing the drivers and schedulers real footage provides a very powerful tool to engage in discussions around improving driving styles. A key benefit from the system relates to real time alerts for the driver, the ability for the driver to select and record an incident. The system is there to support the driver and reduce risk on the road, not to be a burden. We developed a driver safety reward program which otherwise is very difficult to implement with meaningful measures. Its early days for the full system implementation, however, we certainly see the results and expecting the ongoing improvement.”

With wide-angle dual lenses and an integrated microphone, Lytx DriveCam gives the big picture of risk – day or night. Built-in access to the mobile data network allows video events to be uploaded instantly while in-built Machine Vision and Artificial Intelligence allows risk to be identified with greater fidelity than ever before.

DriveCam devices and zzoota smart tablets have been installed in all Supagas company and contractor vehicles from June 2022. Supagas is also excited to announce that zzoota has been selected as their national telematics supplier.

Fitted into each vehicle across the Supagas company and contractor fleet, zzoota's Site7X smart tablet allows Supagas to improve our compliance, communication, health and safety, and efficiency. Live tracking and custom reporting of assets has been key to Supagas selecting zzoota as their solution provider.

Integrating digital Pre-Start Checklists linked directly to the asset helps Supagas proactively improve maintenance scheduling.

Taking into consideration live traffic and weather data, vehicle attributes and payload, asset specific routing saves time and reduces risk, ultimately improving the customer experience using zzoota technology.

The CEO/Co-founder of zzoota Aaron Zamykal says, "we are thrilled to be an integral part of Supagas' safety and compliance strategy". Supagas’ investment into fleet technology via the zzoota solution will lead the market and ultimately deliver better customer outcomes.

Supagas Managing Director, Erol Arican says,” The zzoota package for Supagas was an enabler project. Many additional features are being developed to reduce the paperwork, make compliance simpler and effective. The options to integrate and automate processes are significant. These will drive efficiencies across the business. Without such a tool and the ability to integrate to the vehicle and driver these would not be possible.”
