How long does a helium cylinder last?

Helium does not expire nor degrade. As long as the valve is sealed air-tight, the helium in the gas cylinder won’t escape.2 If you are using the helium cylinder to blow up balloons, you can generally expect them to last according to their container size:

  • CL size (0.6m3): 50 balloons
  • D size (1.2m3): 100 balloons
  • E size (3.5m3): 300 balloons
  • G size (9.1m3): 800 balloons
